Watkins Memorial proved they can win big on Friday (they won by six) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a run and slipped past the St. Charles Cardinals 4-3. This was payback for the Warriors, who suffered a 4-3 loss the last time these two teams met.

Dom Yosick spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on five hits.

At the plate, Jax Dotson was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Patrick Shroyer was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Watkins Memorial's record is now 9-5. As for St. Charles, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.

Watkins Memorial will welcome Mt. Vernon at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for St. Charles, they will head out to face off against St. Francis DeSales at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
