Baseball Recap: East Forsyth Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact East Forsyth can now relate to. They took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Charlotte Catholic Cougars on Tuesday. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

East Forsyth got a good showing from Austin Federspiel, who pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits. Federspiel has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Craig McGhee and Eben Greene did some serious damage despite the final result: McGhee went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI, while Greene went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

East Forsyth's loss dropped their record down to 17-9. As for Charlotte Catholic, their victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-5-1.

East Forsyth does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Charlotte Catholic, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 13-5 defeat against T.C. Roberson on the 10th.
