Softball Game Preview: Randolph School Raiders vs. West Limestone Wildcats

Randolph School hasn't had much luck against West Limestone recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Randolph School Raiders will look to defend their home field against the West Limestone Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. Randolph School has given up an average of 12 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Randolph School is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 17th straight game dating back to last season back in February. They came up short against East Limestone, falling 16-4.

Randolph School saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sofie Bynum, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2. Bynum also put up an RBI, which was her first of the season.

Meanwhile, West Limestone had already won 13 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.2 runs) and they went ahead and made it 14 on Monday. They never let the Patriots get on the board and left with an 11-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won 13 matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

West Limestone got a massive performance out of Lilly Bethune, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and three runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Yarbrough, who went 2-for-3 with two triples, two runs, and two RBI.

West Limestone always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bob Jones only posted an OBP of .222.

West Limestone pushed their record up to 20-2 with the victory, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Randolph School, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.
