Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Kearny). They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the La Jolla Vikings 22-21. The win was some much needed relief for the Komets as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Kearny's victory bumped their record up to 4-9. As for La Jolla, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kearny will welcome Monte Vista at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Komets are facing the Monarchs at the right time seeing as the Monarchs are stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for La Jolla, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against High Tech SD at 4:00 p.m. The Storm have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.18 runs per game on average), something the Vikings will no doubt try to take advantage of.
