Volleyball Recap: Desert Ridge Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Desert Ridge can now relate to. They fell just short of the Higley Knights by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Jaguars were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Knights earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

While Desert Ridge ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least nine points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-22, 21-25, 19-25, 15-9.

Despite the loss, Desert Ridge still got an impressive performance from Kai Perkins, who had 19 digs and two aces. Perkins has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last nine times she's played.

Desert Ridge has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 20-12 record this season. As for Higley, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-12-3.

Desert Ridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Higley, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Corona del Sol on the 6th.
