Softball Recap: Canterbury Crusaders vs. Dunedin Falcons
Canterbury came into this matchup off a tough 15-run defeat last Wednesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Dunedin Falcons by a score of 5-3 on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Crusaders in their meetings with the Falcons: they've now lost four in a row.
Kaylah Berta put in work no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits (and not a single walk). Furthermore, she didn't allow a single walk, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in March. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Cali Baust made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played. Kenzie Tucker also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Canterbury's defeat dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Dunedin, they pushed their record up to 16-5 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.
