Softball Recap: Crismon Extends Road Winning Streak to Five

Crismon got themselves on the board against ALA - Queen Creek on Wednesday, but ALA - Queen Creek never followed suit. They blew past the Patriots 10-0. The Rattlers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 17 matches by six runs or more this season.

Emma Phelps tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Alee Grace Trunell was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Dakota Bustos, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Crismon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as ALA - Queen Creek only posted an OBP of .211.

Crismon's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 21-7. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for ALA - Queen Creek, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-16 record this season.

Crismon will take on Valley Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Rattlers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 9.7 runs per game this season. ALA - Queen Creek does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
