Volleyball Recap: Rockwall Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Rockwall kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell just short of the Lake Highlands Wildcats by a score of 3-2. The Yellowjackets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2019.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Rockwall sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 10-25, 25-23, 23-25, 15-13.

When it comes to explaining why Rockwall lost, don't look at Ashtyn Werth. Despite the final result, she had 11 digs and two aces.

Looking ahead, Rockwall will take on Ursuline Academy at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. As for Lake Highlands, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Highland Park at 6:30 p.m. on September 2.
