Football Game Preview: Christian Patriots vs. Central Spartans + How To Watch

The Christian Patriots will face off against the Central Spartans at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.

Christian is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Army-Navy 20-17. That's two games straight that the Patriots have won by exactly three points.

Christian can attribute much of their success to Kaleb Runkle, who threw for 96 yards and two TDs, and also rushed for 48 yards. That's the most rushing yards Runkle has posted since back in October.

Christian's run defense was locked in: Army-Navy could only muster 3.2 yards per carry. While two picked up at least one total tackle, Kai Rosier stood above the rest. He picked up 19 receiving yards. Christian's ground attack was stronger, having averaged 4.9.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Friday Central sidestepped University City for a 44-42 victory.

Christian better keep an eye on Matthew Lizaola. He was instrumental in Central's win, rushing for 269 yards and five scores while picking up 8.2 yards per carry. Fidel Jr Camarena was another key player, rushing for 87 yards and one touchdown.

Central's win bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 6-7.

Christian strolled past Central in their previous matchup back in September of 2021 by a score of 44-28. Do the Patriots have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Spartans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
