Franklin has won five straight games at home, while Ross has won five straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Wednesday. The Wildcats will host the Rams at 5:00 p.m.
Franklin is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Western Brown just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Saturday. They came up short against the Broncos, falling 8-2.
Franklin saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Meredith Zehring, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run.
Meanwhile, while Ross put up some runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Seton. The Rams put the hurt on the Saints with a sharp 10-0 win. Considering the Rams have won nine contests by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Paige Baker made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kam Commins, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and one double. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more hits the last three times she's played. Josi Alvis was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.
Ross kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 12 consecutive matchups.
Franklin's defeat dropped their record down to 14-10. As for Ross, their victory bumped their record up to 15-6.
Franklin suffered a grim 12-3 defeat to Ross in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
