Volleyball Game Preview: Central Noble Cougars vs. Churubusco Eagles

Central Noble is 1-9 against Churubusco since September of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Cougars will square off against the Eagles at 9:00 a.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Central Noble came up short against Garrett on Thursday, falling 3-0.

Central Noble was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-22, 25-18.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Churubusco challenged Fairfield on Thursday. The Eagles fell 3-1 to the Falcons.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-13, 20-25, 25-16.

Central Noble will have to contain Amira Wilson as she made an impact in Churubusco's last game. She had 13 digs and one assist.

Churubusco's loss dropped their record down to 7-19. As for Central Noble, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-18.

Central Noble came out on top in a nail-biter against Churubusco in their previous matchup back in September, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
