Miami Central skyrockets into the rankings and Columbus falls out.

In a showdown of Miami powers, Central overcame Columbus in the final seconds, knocking out the previously ranked Explorers and earning its own spot in this week's Xcellent 25 National Football Rankings presented by the Army National Guard.

Central is now 4-0 and ranked No. 20.

No. 9 St. Edward moved to 6-0 with a 20-7 victory over Ursuline. The win sets up a showdown with No. 1 Don Bosco Prep, a game that will take place at Fordham University.

No. 11 Bishop Gorman also notched a big win. The Gaels, whose only loss came to No. 2 Armwood, downed Southern California power Servite 31-28.

1. (1) Don Bosco Prep (Ramsey, N.J.), 4-0
Led by senior Elijah Shumate, Don Bosco Prep knocked off rival Bergen Catholic 33-22. Shumate finished with three touchdowns. (Story)

2. (2) Armwood (Seffner, Fla.), 5-0
Armwood downed Jefferson 20-0 behind 80 yards and a touchdown from Matt Jones. The Hawks' defense is allowing just six points per game.

3. (3) Trinity (Louisville, Ky.), 6-0
In front of about 30,000 fans, Trinity dominated its Louisville rival St. Xavier 41-6. (Story)

4. (4) Allen (Texas), 5-0
After a slow first half, Allen turned it on in the second quarter to romp over Lewisville 45-13.

5. (5) St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.), 4-0
With a 56-13 victory over McArthur, Aquinas sets the stage for a huge South Florida showdown with undefeated Miramar.{PAGEBREAK}6. (6) DeSoto (Texas), 5-0

Head Coach Gary Joseph earned his 100th career win in Katy's easy 55-3 blowout victory over Strake Jesuit.

9. (9) St. Edward (Lakewood, Ohio), 6-0
In a tuneup before its showdown with No. 1 Don Bosco Prep, St. Edward held off Ursuline 20-7. Dwayne Aaron ran for 155 yards and a score.

10. (10) Our Lady of Good Counsel (Olney, Md.), 5-0
Stefon Diggs was all over the field for Good Counsel, registering 125 receiving yards and delivering several big hits in a 34-14 victory over Red Lion Christian Academy.

A late field goal lifted Bishop Gorman over previously ranked Servite 31-28. (Story)

12. (13) Mallard Creek (Charlotte, N.C.), 6-0
Jela Duncan had a total of three touchdowns and more than 200 yards in Mallard Creek's 55-20 victory over Vance.

13. (14) Buford (Ga.), 7-0
It was another overwhelming effort for Buford, which pounded Decatur 59-13.

14. (18) Grayson (Loganville, Ga.), 5-0
Grayson dominated both sides of the ball in a 42-14 victory over Shiloh.

15. (20) Archbishop Moeller (Cincinnati), 6-0
Moeller turned a 28-0 lead into a 35-13 victory over previously unbeaten LaSalle 35-13.

Joel Kimpela rushed for three touchdowns in Trinity's 41-11 victory over Bell.

17. (16) Bellevue (Wash.), 5-0
Despite allowing the final 21 points of the game, Bellevue downed Mercer Island 43-28.

18. (12) Harrison (Farmington Hills, Mich.), 6-0
Harrison struggled against Oak Park but came away with 48-35 victory. Sophomore Lorenzo Collins rushed for 213 yards.

19. (17) Warren Central (Indianapolis), 7-0
Max Hernandez hit a 37-yard field goal as time expired to boost Warren Central past Carmel 22-20. (Story)

20. (NR) Central (Miami), 4-0

Trent Thompson threw for 254 yards and three scores in McEachern's 45-7 victory over South Cobb.

23. (22) Camden County (Kingsland, Ga.), 5-0
With a 59-14 victory over Treasure Coast (Port St. Lucie, Fla.), Camden County has now beaten teams from three different states this season.

24. (NR) Miramar (Fla.), 4-0
Miramar, which captured a 6A state title in 2008, is loaded with talent and has held opponents to 15 points in four games.

25. (NR) Central Catholic (Pittsburgh), 5-0
Central Catholic looks like the top team in Pennsylvania this season, having raced out to an impressive 5-0 start.
