Game recap: Grain Valley High School Football Team defeats Odessa

After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by Ben Andes to Zadc Ehlen in the first quarter, Grain Valley (Mo.) led 42-0 at the half.

A big 27-point second quarter helped the Eagles secure the win. Grain Valley scored on a Brenton Leighow touchdown run, a touchdown pass by Kellen Holland to Evan Velasquez, a touchdown run by Landon Farmer and a Holland touchdown pass to Jacob Krell in the quarter.

Grain Valley's most effective player was Holland. He threw two touchdowns.

The Eagles has struggled this season, allowing 31.0 points per game.



Grain Valley got revenge for last year's 42-26 loss to Odessa (Mo.) with the victory.

The victory was a step in the right direction for GV, which was coming off a 49-22 defeat at the hands of Oak Grove in its previous game.
