Basketball Recap: Albuquerque Academy Takes a Loss

Albuquerque Academy lost against Organ Mountain back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Albuquerque Academy Chargers took a blow against the Organ Mountain Knights, falling 69-38. While losing is never fun, the Chargers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico basketball rankings (they are ranked 55th, while the Knights are ranked seventh).

Organ Mountain got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Emmitt McDaniel out in front who went 5 of 11 on his way to 15 points and seven steals. The dominant performance gave McDaniel a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Coomes, who went 6 for 10 on his way to 13 points.

Albuquerque Academy now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Organ Mountain, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Albuquerque Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 68-67 loss against Hope Christian on the 14th. As for Organ Mountain, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 64-55 defeat against Atrisco Heritage Academy on the 14th.
