Softball Recap: St. Louis Catholic's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

St. Louis Catholic waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the Westlake Rams get on the board and left with an 11-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Saints, who have now won four contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Aila Brassier, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Ellie Gage was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

St. Louis Catholic hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

St. Louis Catholic's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-5. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Westlake, their loss dropped their record down to 11-11.

Coming up, St. Louis Catholic will venture away from home to square off against Lake Charles College Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. St. Louis Catholic is facing Lake Charles College Prep at the right time seeing as Lake Charles College Prep is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Westlake, they will take on Singer at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Singer has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.27 runs per game on average), something Westlake will no doubt try to take advantage of.
