League recap: Hudson throws longest pass in league this season for Vandegrift

4A Region IV District 25 recap September 10, 2013

Jamie Hudson and Luke Peterman provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Killeen. The connection was good for 84 yards, the longest such play in 4A Region IV District 25 this season.

Rouse scaled the state rankings by moving to 119 from 152 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Raiders climbed the ranks as a result of defeating Cedar Ridge 55-29.

Brennen Wooten and Keith Jerome gave Marble Falls a balanced attack in passing and rushing last week. Wooten threw for 306 yards and 4 touchdowns, while Jerome ran for 176 yards. Teammate Tyler Ryan added to the ground attack by rushing for 57 yards.

Wooten and Jerome gave the Mustangs a balanced attack through the air and ground last week.

Hudson provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Vandegrift topped the Kangaroos. He completed 6 passes for 165 yards and 3 touchdowns and also ran for 150 yards. Hudson's key target this week was Peterman, who caught 3 passes for 136 yards.

Wooten put up the best numbers through the air as Marble Falls defeated Smithville. Wooten's favorite target this week was J.t. Watson, who caught 9 passes for 93 yards.

Jerome was the best running back in the league this week.

Peterman was the best receiver in 4A Region IV District 25 this week as the Vipers topped Killeen.

On the heels of Wooten and Jerome, Todd Dodge's team has had great success on offense. Wooten is tops in the league in passing with 558 yards, while Jerome has rushed for 280 yards this season. Vandegrift's Peterman leads the league in receiving yards with 246 on 7 catches.

Leander lost to Hendrickson 52-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Andrew Alaniz in the loss.
