Volleyball Recap: Southern Wayne Takes a Loss

Southern Wayne lost against Fike back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Saints lost 3-0 to the Golden Demons.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-10, 25-18.

Despite the defeat, Southern Wayne saw an underclassman step up: freshman Addison McPhail had five aces, four digs, and one block.

Southern Wayne dropped their record down to 3-17 with the loss, which was their 20th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Fike, the victory got them back to even at 9-9.

Coincidentally, Southern Wayne and Fike will both be playing C.B. Aycock the next time they take the court. The Golden Demons will head out to face the Golden Falcons at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Saints will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
