Baseball Recap: Weed Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Weed's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Hoopa Valley on Friday. The Cougars came out on top in a nail-biter against the Modoc Braves, sneaking past 13-12. With that win, the Cougars brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.

The team relied heavily on Braeden Cordes, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Hill, who went 3-for-5 with four RBI.

With the victory, Weed broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-8. As for Modoc, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-4.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Braves beat Weed by a score of 9-3 later that day.
