Softball Recap: Deer Park Extends Home Winning Streak to Four

Deer Park barely beat Pullman the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Stags beat the Greyhounds on Tuesday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 12-2. The Stags haven't had any issues with the Greyhounds recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Hailey Thompson made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.

In other batting news, Deer Park got a massive performance out of Lucy Lathrop, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four hits gave Lathrop a new career-high. Elizabeth Meyers also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Deer Park always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .552. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pullman only posted an OBP of .375.

Deer Park pushed their record up to 8-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.8 runs over those games. As for Pullman, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Looking ahead, Deer Park will take on Clarkston at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Pullman, they will challenge Rogers at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
