Soccer Game Preview: Rootstown vs. Norwayne

The Rootstown Rovers will challenge the Norwayne Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Rootstown's win against Garfield wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Rovers' defense stepped up to hand the G-Men a 1-0 shutout on Saturday. Rootstown haven't had any issues with Garfield recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Norwayne faced off against Newton Falls on Wednesday. The Bobcats blew past the Tigers 8-0. Norwayne might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by three goals or more this season.

Their offense was hitting Newton Falls from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Casee Schaffer led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Rootstown's record now sits at 8-10. As for Norwayne, their record is now 13-5.
