Recap: Shanksville Stonycreek Vikings vs. Blacklick Valley Vikings
If the Shanksville Stonycreek Vikings were feeling good off their 48-17 takedown of the Hyndman Charter School Hornets last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Shanksville Stonycreek fell to Blacklick Valley 48-44. Shanksville Stonycreek has not had much luck with Blacklick Valley recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Several Vikings players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Christian Musser, who scored 12 points along with seven assists and three steals. Musser is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Grant Boozer was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with eight rebounds.
Shanksville Stonycreek's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Blacklick Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shanksville Stonycreek will take on Rockwood at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Rockwood is hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses. As for Blacklick Valley, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Ferndale at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Ferndale focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 last Wednesday.
