Soccer Game Preview: Valparaiso vs. Hanover Central

The Valparaiso Vikings are taking a road trip to face off against the Hanover Central Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.

Valparaiso is likely headed into the match with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Crown Point on Wednesday. The Vikings fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 1-0. The loss was Valparaiso's first of the season.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last contest, Hanover Central made sure to put some goals up on the board against Culver Academies on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 5-0 margin over the Eagles. The result was nothing new for Hanover Central, who have now won eight matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

They hit Culver Academies with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Kevin Otworowski (3), Dylan Clark, and Logan Zilz.

Hanover Central is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 27 goals over those six contests. Having lost for the first time this season, Valparaiso fell to 10-1-2.
