Lapel barely beat Jay County the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bulldogs took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 42-14 win over the Patriots. The victory continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won seven in a row.

A big part of Lapel's win came down to the chemistry between Devin Craig and his top target Jaxon Cripe. Craig threw for 229 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 72.2% of his passes while Cripe picked up 98 receiving yards and two TDs. What's more, Craig racked up 151.4 passer rating, the most he's had since back in October of 2024.

Lapel's victory bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Jay County, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lapel will face off against Eastern Hancock at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Craig and Elijah Edon. As for Jay County, they will square off against Heritage at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
