Softball Recap: Pace Comes Up Short

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Pace's offense. They fell just short of the Niceville Eagles by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Patriots' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Hannah DeMarcus spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up 16 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts in 16 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Pace saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abby McLean, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Pace's defeat dropped their record down to 15-3. As for Niceville, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-6.

Pace has already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Tate on the 17th. As for Niceville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 4-0 victory against Gulf Breeze on the 17th.
