Baseball Recap: Glenville Sets Scoring Season-High Against Euclid

Glenville extended their losing streak to eight on Monday, dropping their season record down to 1-9 in the process. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 14-12 heartbreaker at the hands of the Euclid Panthers. On the bright side, the 12- run performance marked the Tarblooders' highest-scoring game to date.

As for Euclid, their record is now 7-12. The high-scoring effort was just what they needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

For Euclid's part, Malik Abdul-Wali was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. The Panthers are undefeated when Abdul-Wali posts two or more runs, but 4-12 otherwise. Anthony Shockey was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Glenville will head out to challenge Brooklyn at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Euclid, they will venture away from home to square off against Cleveland Central Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Ironmen have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.42 runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
