Baseball Recap: Hillsdale Beats Dalton for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Hillsdale won the last time they faced Dalton and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Falcons walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Bulldogs. Winning may never get old, but the Falcons sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Aiden Hoffman made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brock Bower, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases and three runs. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kael Lewis, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Hillsdale's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Dalton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-6.

Hillsdale will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bulldogs: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
