Soccer Game Preview: Longview vs. Nacogdoches

The Longview Lobos will take on the Nacogdoches Dragons in a tournament on Thursday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Longview is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Jacksonville just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 3-1 to the Fightin' Indians. The loss was the Lobos' first of the season.

Meanwhile, for the first time this season, Nacogdoches was forced to settle for a draw. They and Cy-Fair finished up their contest with a 1-1 draw on Saturday. The Dragons' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Their goal came courtesy of Walker Oliver, which was the first he's scored this season.

Nacogdoches' draw makes their record 3-0-1 this season. As for Longview, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-1.

Longview came out on top in a nail-biter against Nacogdoches in their previous meeting back in January of 2022, sneaking past 1-0. Does Longview have another victory up their sleeve, or will Nacogdoches turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
