Softball Recap: Watsonville Takes a Loss

Watsonville entered their game against Salinas on Wednesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Wildcatz came up short against the Cowboys, falling 12-1. Having soared to a lofty 17 runs in the game before, the Wildcatz couldn't push the score so high this time.

Mia Espinoza made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run. That home run was her first of the season.

Watsonville suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 8-3. As for Salinas, their record now sits at 5-3.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Watsonville will square off against rival Monterey at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Salinas is set to face off against their familiar foe Everett Alvarez at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
