Basketball Recap: Diamond Hill-Jarvis Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Jason White and Anthony Elizondo

Diamond Hill-Jarvis was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. The contest between them and the Western Hills Cougars didn't end well, with the Diamond Hill-Jarvis Eagles falling 65-49. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cougars earlier this season, when they won 56-38.

Diamond Hill-Jarvis' loss came despite strong showings from Anthony Elizondo and Jason White. Elizondo went 7 for 17 en route to 21 points along with six boards and five assists, while White posted ten points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals. Elizondo's evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Diamond Hill-Jarvis' loss dropped their record down to 9-19. As for Western Hills, their victory bumped their record up to 8-19.

Diamond Hill-Jarvis and Western Hills could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Diamond Hill-Jarvis (ranked 1044th) will meet Eastern Hills (ranked 197th) at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Western Hills will take on Southwest at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday down 860 places (1177 vs. 317).
