Basketball Recap: Tyler Eklund Key Part of a Team Effort in Bombers Win

Braham hadn't done well against Pine City recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Braham Bombers came out on top against the Pine City Dragons by a score of 74-66. Given the Bombers' advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 144th, while the Dragons are ranked 320th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Braham's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tyler Eklund led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 28 points and nine assists. Eklund's evening made it ten games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Soren Lilly, who went 8 of 19 en route to 21 points along with eight steals and seven boards.

Braham smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Braham's record is now 8-2. As for Pine City, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Braham will welcome Aitkin at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Braham is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 81 points per game this season. As for Pine City, they will host Hinckley-Finlayson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
