Softball Recap: Valmeyer Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Valmeyer had to start their season on the road on Thursday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They came up short against the Red Bud Musketeers, falling 17-0. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it ten in a row.

Red Bud's win was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Valmeyer will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Gibault Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on April 8. As for Red Bud, they will face off against Edwardsville at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
