Bloom-Carroll strolled into their game on Saturday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They put the hurt on the Bishop Watterson Eagles with a sharp 3-0 victory. The Bulldogs were shut out 3-0 the last time they took on the Eagles, so the Bulldogs were just returning the favor.

The win didn't come easy: Bishop Watterson scored at least 18 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-20, 25-18.

Sylvia Haughn paced Bloom-Carroll's offense, picking up 13 kills. Haughn got some help from Renee Smith and her 26 assists. Smith was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Maddie Lane and Ava Picken certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Lane had 16 digs, while Picken had eight digs and one assist.

Bloom-Carroll's victory bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Bishop Watterson, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.

Looking ahead, Bloom-Carroll will be playing in front of their home fans against Logan Elm at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bishop Watterson, they will challenge Jonathan Alder at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
