Baseball Recap: Voorhees Vikings vs. Bernards Mountaineers
Voorhees had lost three straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped down to 2-5 to make it four. They took a 14-11 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bernards Mountaineers. Even if the Vikings couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.
As for Bernards, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-3. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
For Bernards' part, the team relied heavily on Alex Depierro, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one double. Casey Hoeckele also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
