Basketball Recap: Bison Cardinals vs. Lemmon Cowboys
The Bison Cardinals's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a rough 56-17 loss at the hands of Lemmon. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Bison has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why Bison lost, one person who can't be blamed is Rylee Veal. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds. That was a full 76.5% of Bison's points, marking the 12th time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Bison's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Lemmon, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 11-2.
Bison's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Thunderhawks at 2:30 p.m. on February 2nd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in South Dakota (Tiospaye Topa is ranked 151st, while the Cardinals are ranked 148th). As for Lemmon, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Timber Lake is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
