Soccer Recap: Reedley's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Reedley waltzed into their contest on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Selma Bears. Given the Pirates' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 68th, while the Bears are ranked 396th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Reedley hit Selma with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Alex Duarte, Juan Rico, and Steven RioS.

Reedley has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 18 goals over those six games. As for Selma, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1-1 and their overall record down to 7-6-3.

Reedley wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Washington Union on the 28th. Selma has also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Kingsburg on the 28th.
