3A Region 7 recap October 1, 2013

Crystal Springs and McLaurin played the most contested game in 3A Region 7 this week, with Crystal Springs eventually emerging with a 40-37 victory. Jerriko Morris threw for 183 yards and 3 touchdowns and ran for 121 yards in the win.

The Tigers led the league in scoring this week by notching 40 points on the Tigers. Morris ran for 121 yards during the win.

5-foot-10 quarterback Jarvis Warner of Hazlehurst is the league leader in passing yards this season with 835. He has also thrown 11 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Allenzae Staggers. The Wilkinson County star has 21 catches for 470 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Franklin County takes on Wilkinson County. The Bulldogs are in third place, while the Wildcats are in second place.

Crystal Springs made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 12,292 from 12,469. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 40-37 victory over McLaurin last week.
