The Foothill Mustangs will challenge the Armijo Royals at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Foothill will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Friday, then bounced right back against Florin on Monday. The Mustangs blew past the Panthers 20-6. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Foothill got a massive performance out of Mercede Averett, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs Averett has posted since back in March. Sofia Monroe was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and one double.
Meanwhile, Armijo had already won 12 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs) and they went ahead and made it 13 on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 25-1 margin over the Panthers.
Brooklyn Talbot was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, five runs, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Charlotte Spears, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI.
Armijo's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Foothill, their win bumped their record up to 10-8.
Wednesday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Foothill has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .558. However, it's not like Armijo struggles in that department as they've averaged .624. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
