Ionia entered their tilt with Martin on Saturday with seven consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with eight. They came out on top against the Clippers by a score of 2-0.

Ionia easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-7.

Amaya Frias paced Ionia's offense, picking up nine kills. Frias got some help from Grace Droste and her 20 assists. Frias was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Ionia's victory bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Martin, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-4 record.

Looking ahead, Ionia will square off against Portland at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The game will give the Bulldogs their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Martin, they will challenge Allegan at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
