Basketball Game Preview: Bellflower Buccaneers vs. Firebaugh Falcons

The Bellflower Buccaneers will square off against the Firebaugh Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bellflower will be strutting in after a victory while Firebaugh will be coming in after a loss.

On Wednesday, Bellflower earned a 37-24 win over Norwalk. Given the Buccaneers' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 259th, while the Lancers are ranked 614th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Firebaugh suffered their closest defeat since January 3rd on Wednesday. They fell just short of Downey by a score of 58-55.

Bellflower is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 games, which provided a massive bump to their 18-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points per game. As for Firebaugh, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.
