Soccer Recap: Robinson Falls Short of Wakefield in the Playoffs

Robinson and Wakefield squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Robinson had to settle for second. While the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was the Warriors who were credited with the victory. The Wakefield Warriors got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to the Robinson Rams' four. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Robinson came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 18th, while Wakefield are ranked 96th).

Robinson's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-5-2. As for Wakefield, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5-3 record this season.

Robinson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Wakefield, they wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next contest, a 2-2 win against Gar-Field on the 13th.
