The Palm Bay Pirates will face off against the Calvary Chapel Academy Eagles at 10:00 a.m. on Monday. Palm Bay will be strutting in after a victory while Calvary Chapel Academy will be coming in after a loss.
On Thursday, Palm Bay needed a bit of extra time to put away Space Coast. They skirted past the Vipers 6-5. The Pirates haven't had any issues with the Vipers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Keiran Cummings made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over 6.1 innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Cummings was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
In other pitching news, Hunter Ashbaugh looked comfortable as he tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024.

Back at the plate, Nolan Werle was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while going 1-for-3. He is becoming a predictor of Palm Bay's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 2-5 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Timothy Owens, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Calvary Chapel Academy scored the most runs they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of Brevard HEAT by a score of 19-18. The Eagles just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.
Armando Martinez led a balanced group of hitters, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Conner Wolfe, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4.
Calvary Chapel Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Palm Bay, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Calvary Chapel Academy's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Palm Bay has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .471. It's a different story for Calvary Chapel Academy, though, as they've only averaged .318. Will they be able to contain Palm Bay's hitters?
