Soccer Game Preview: The Palmdale Aerospace Academy vs. Independence

The Palmdale Aerospace Academy Griffins will be taking part in a tournament against the Independence Falcons at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. The Palmdale Aerospace Academy will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.

On Monday, The Palmdale Aerospace Academy beat Burroughs 3-1. Given the Griffins' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 56th, while the Bears are ranked 589th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Diego Mathias Cabrera and Jan Hernandez scored all three of The Palmdale Aerospace Academy's goals, bringing their combined season tally to ten goals.

Meanwhile, Saturday just wasn't the day for Independence's offense. They came up short against Righetti last Saturday, falling 4-0. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The Palmdale Aerospace Academy's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-0. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 11 goals over those four games. As for Independence, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.
