Baseball Recap: Buford Takes a Loss

If Buford was riding high fresh off their 13-3 takedown of North Central last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Yellow Jackets fell just short of the Andrew Jackson Volunteers by a score of 7-6 on Tuesday. The Yellow Jackets were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Volunteers earlier this season, when they won 10-0.

Austin Catledge made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and one double. Hunter Mills was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

Buford moved to 12-4 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Andrew Jackson, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-10.

While Buford had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
