Basketball Recap: Friday's Victory Is La Porte's Seventh in Last Eight Outings

Chesterton came into Friday's game looking for another win against La Porte, but Griffin Ott-Large wouldn't allow it. The La Porte Slicers secured a 51-46 W over the Chesterton Trojans on Friday thanks in part to Ott-Large, who went 5 of 12 en route to 17 points. His evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Nic Spence, who posted nine points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played.

La Porte is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points per game. As for Chesterton, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6.

La Porte didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 59-58 victory against Mishawaka on the 18th. Chesterton has also already played their next game (against Hobart), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
