Lowell faced Lake Central in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Red Devils skirted past the Indians 4-2. The win was nothing new for the Red Devils as they're now sitting on 11 straight.

Olivia Fuentes spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 13 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Isabella Baron, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.

Lowell's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Lake Central, they moved to 19-3 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lowell will venture away from home to square off against Munster at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mustangs will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something the Red Devils surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lake Central, they will head out on the road to take on Chesterton at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Indians' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 9.3 runs per game this season.
