Baseball Game Preview: Bartlesville Bruins vs. Norman Tigers

The Bartlesville Bruins will head out on the road to face off against the Norman Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Bartlesville is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.

While Bartlesville didn't have the best season last year (they finished 13-22), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 5-1 win over Ponca City on Saturday.

Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last game, Norman made sure to put some runs up on the board against Putnam City North on Friday. Norman blew past Putnam City North 13-4. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Tigers' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Bartlesville pushed their record up to 9-7 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Norman, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-5.

Bartlesville came out on top in a nail-biter against Norman when the teams last played back in May of 2015, sneaking past 7-5. Will Bartlesville repeat their success, or does Norman has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
