Ameya Brown and Jaidiah Blake secure win for Terry Sanford

The Terry Sanford Bulldogs had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They strolled past Overhills with points to spare, taking the game 68-49. Given Terry Sanford's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 35th, while Overhills is ranked 223rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Terry Sanford to victory were Ameya Brown and Jaidiah Blake. Brown scored 21 points along with nine steals, while Blake dropped a double-double on 19 points and 14 rebounds. Blake hasn't dropped below two steals for 11 straight games. Another player making a difference was Breonna Roaf, who scored five points along with ten assists and six steals.

Several Jaguars players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Eva Mcrae, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks. Najiha Allen was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with five assists.

Terry Sanford is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Overhills, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-7.

Terry Sanford won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Quality Education Academy at 2:30 p.m. on January 27th. As for Overhills, they will be playing in front of their home fans against E.E. Smith at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. E.E. Smith is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
