Basketball Game Preview: Apple Valley Eagles vs. Eagan Wildcats

Apple Valley is 2-8 against Eagan since February of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Apple Valley Eagles will challenge the Eagan Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Apple Valley's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

Apple Valley is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Minnesota's top teams: Prior Lake, who was ranked fifth at the time (Apple Valley was ranked tenth). Apple Valley fell just short of Prior Lake by a score of 76-73 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Eagles have suffered since December 22, 2023.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Eagan duked it out withLakeville South on Friday. Eagan sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 77-74 win over Lakeville South. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.

Eagan's victory bumped their record up to 12-4. As for Apple Valley, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-2.

Apple Valley came up short against Eagan in their previous meeting back in January, falling 80-76. Can Apple Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
