Soccer Game Preview: Smith County vs. Monterey

The Smith County Owls are taking a road trip to challenge the Monterey Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Smith County is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.

Smith County's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past Cannon County 5-0. Smith County might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by three goals or more this season.

They hit Cannon County with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Aubree Spain (2), Addie Cripps (2), and Julie Bowker.

Meanwhile, Monterey didn't have quite enough to beat Upperman on Monday and fell 2-1. Monterey have struggled against Upperman recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Monterey's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Smith County, their victory bumped their record up to 8-1-1.

Everything went Smith County's way against Monterey in their previous meeting back in August, as Smith County made off with an 8-1 win. In that matchup, the Owls amassed a halftime lead of 5-1, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
