Softball Recap: Rancocas Valley Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Paul VI, Rancocas Valley was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Eastern Vikings a 9-0 shutout. The Red Devils have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Vikings, too.

Gianna Simone made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Simone was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Kaitlyn Dick was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Payton Schwartz, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Rancocas Valley's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Eastern, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Rancocas Valley is set to challenge their familiar foe Cherry Hill East at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Eastern will take on rival Shawnee at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
